FAQ

Payment questions

Are you in-network with my insurance?

It depends on the state and plan. In West Virginia we're in-network with Aetna (commercial), BCBS/Highmark, Peak Health, PEIA-UMR, TRICARE, The Health Plan (commercial), and UHC/Optum. In North Carolina we're in-network with Optum, UnitedHealthcare (including UBH), BlueCross, and BlueShield. We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid products. Benefits and copays vary by plan — we recommend confirming with your insurer before your first session.

What if you're not in-network with my plan?

You can still work with us through private pay, and in most cases we can provide a superbill that you submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Your insurance company determines whether out-of-network benefits apply to your plan.

How much does a private-pay session cost?

Session fees vary by clinician, session length, and format. Your intake contact will share current rates before you book, so there are no surprises. If cost is a concern, tell us during intake — we'll be honest about what's possible.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected charges for services before you begin. We provide Good Faith Estimates on request — just ask your intake contact and they'll prepare one.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, checks, HSA cards, and credit or debit cards. Ongoing sessions are billed automatically through our secure client portal (SimplePractice) once you're set up.

Do you charge for missed appointments?

Yes — a late-cancellation or no-show fee applies when sessions are missed without adequate notice. Your intake contact will share the exact policy and any exceptions before you begin.
