With Shannon Ackerman

Nutrition Coaching

Practical, evidence-informed nutrition work aligned with the goals of your clinical care. Focused on regulation, energy, and sustainable change — not restriction or trend diets.

With Mary Kefferstan

Reiki Healing

Reiki offered as a supplemental, non-invasive support for stress and nervous-system regulation. A calm, complementary track alongside psychotherapy for clients who find it helpful.

A note on scope

Holistic Healing services complement — and never replace — evidence-based psychotherapy. They are appropriate for clients whose treatment plan supports their inclusion. If you're unsure whether these are right for you, start with a therapy inquiry and we'll help you decide.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to be a current therapy client to work with Shannon or Mary?

No — nutrition coaching and Reiki are open to clients who are not seeing a therapist at Whole Brain. That said, both services are designed to sit alongside clinical care, and many clients find the work more effective when it does. If you're navigating trauma, anxiety, or a significant life transition, we may recommend beginning with a therapy inquiry so that your supplemental work has clinical grounding.

Is Reiki considered a medical or clinical treatment?

No. Reiki is a complementary practice, not a medical or psychological intervention, and it is not a substitute for therapy or medical care. We offer it here because many clients find it helpful for stress and nervous-system regulation, and because framing it inside a clinical practice keeps expectations honest. Mary will not diagnose, prescribe, or make outcome guarantees.

How is nutrition coaching different from working with a dietitian?

Shannon's coaching is focused on the relationship between food, energy, mood, and nervous-system regulation — not on prescriptive meal plans or medical nutrition therapy. If you have a medical condition, eating disorder, or diagnosis that requires a registered dietitian or physician, we will refer you to the right level of care. Coaching works best for clients looking for sustainable, values-aligned change alongside their broader wellness work.

Are these services covered by insurance?

No. Nutrition coaching and Reiki are private-pay services and are not billed to insurance. Fees are shared during your initial inquiry so you can decide what fits your budget and goals.
